No-Return DVD = Awesome

I happen to stumble, on what I believe to be a brilliant, trendy idea. Meet the No-Return DVD Rental.

No Return DVD

I mean, how many times has this happen–You rent a movie, you get really busy, you don’t watch the movie, then its due back, but you still wanna watch it, and you promise yourself you’re make time, then before you know it… dum dum dum Late Fees, you still haven’t watch it, and now there’s like 10 more movies you wanna see.  Even if you have Netflix or Blockbuster, it still happens. I mean personally have had two Netflix DVD’s sitting on my dresser for 3 weeks now…(just not getting my money’s worth, with my schedule). Like all people, we get busy and things come up,etc.

So how is the No-Return DVD system different as well as better.. Let me count the ways…

The beauty of this system, is that I can watch the movie when I get ready. I don’t have to worry returning it, or late fees racking up. It’s like the Cheaper Netflix or Redbox( you Know those large RED machines at Wal-mart and other various places that sell rentals for $1.00)

The DVD is completely 100% recyclable (YAY  GO Green)

I think it’s better than Redbox, because hey, there’s no late fees!!!

Now the catch…yes well there’s always a catch.  Once you open the DVD and break the special seal, the DVD is only good for 48 hours.(ahem I did say rental…you can’t keep them for ever ppl) So even the people that it takes multiple sittings to finish a movie you can still get it done. I can set my Depp here on the dresser and watch him in a week, when I have a break from my Thesis, worry free.

I picked up a bunch of these little things for 0.99 cents at Staples today.

Hats off to the ppl of Flexplay…well played….well played

Missy Elliott, Premieres World’s 1st 3D Music Video

Hey all, today Missy Elliott released the 1st 3D music video. May not be your style of music, but if you have some 3D glasses you should check it out. Media is changing right before our eyes. Its not unusual for Missy to bring extremely creative music and visuals, especially to a genre, that tend to produce cookie cutter trash with not thought or creativity.

Is the Nintendo Wii the next Ipod?

I think that the Wii will be the next iPod , the next social “toy” or gadget, that everyone will like and enjoy. Just with superficial comparisons, both are White, Sleek, Small and did I mention, they both cost 249.99.

On coffee tables everywhere, you’ll have the TV Remote, DVD Remote(HD or BLUE-RAY, which ever wins), Stereo Remote,  and a Wii-Mote. Similar to how the iPod connected users with their digital music, the Wii connects users with their games, and friends. The Wii puts gamers front and center. Off the couch if you like, and put your self inside the game.

Simplicity– This is where the iPod excels, and others have fail, miserable I might add. Ipod with its clean, and easy to use interface makes adding and removing music to and from an ipod, easy and seamless. And this is where the Wii, will excel as well. The basic principles behind the Wii, are simple and easy. The controller is universally friendly appealing from to people from 8 to 80. Clean design and few buttons, makes the Wii, appealing to people who don’t normally play games.  No longer do you have to be a finger gymnast, to play video games again.

Size-  Again, this an area where the Ipod, blew away, and while the competion has emulated Apple’s model, they still can’t touch it. The ipod is small, flat, thin, whatever you want to call it. The Wii, is perhas one of the smallest gaming consoles ever. It’s about the size of three DVD cases stacked on each other. It fits just about anywhere. It’s easy to move and travels with a breeze, just like the iPod, “portablity”.  I’m sorry but lugging around the other console are a pain.  Instead of insisting people come over to play, it’s just as easy to bring the Wii to them.

Style– Nintendo has taken a lesson from Apple, both in packaging and size. When you open the Wii box, it’s like opening an Apple product. Everything is compartmentalized, and very stylish.  Also, the ipod introduced the clickwheel, a stylish new way of finding and selecting music.  Again Nintendo here, have made their controllers stylish and uber-smooth.  Besides the interactive of the controller with the game, the Wii-mote offers many features of style.  First it dings when it’s your turn to go. Simple, but easily helpful, when you have a crowd of folks. Similar, the lights at the bottom, indicate what player you are, ie, 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Long gone are tangled wires and guesses of who’s who and what controller do I need to pick up.  Next, Built in speaker also sends games sounds through the controller.  Hearing your bat swings, your punches, the wind, etc, all give the added style and a much more favorable user experience.

So, is the Wii, the next iPod?  I believe so, and in a year or so, we’ll see.
