No-Return DVD = Awesome

I happen to stumble, on what I believe to be a brilliant, trendy idea. Meet the No-Return DVD Rental.

No Return DVD

I mean, how many times has this happen–You rent a movie, you get really busy, you don’t watch the movie, then its due back, but you still wanna watch it, and you promise yourself you’re make time, then before you know it… dum dum dum Late Fees, you still haven’t watch it, and now there’s like 10 more movies you wanna see.  Even if you have Netflix or Blockbuster, it still happens. I mean personally have had two Netflix DVD’s sitting on my dresser for 3 weeks now…(just not getting my money’s worth, with my schedule). Like all people, we get busy and things come up,etc.

So how is the No-Return DVD system different as well as better.. Let me count the ways…

The beauty of this system, is that I can watch the movie when I get ready. I don’t have to worry returning it, or late fees racking up. It’s like the Cheaper Netflix or Redbox( you Know those large RED machines at Wal-mart and other various places that sell rentals for $1.00)

The DVD is completely 100% recyclable (YAY  GO Green)

I think it’s better than Redbox, because hey, there’s no late fees!!!

Now the catch…yes well there’s always a catch.  Once you open the DVD and break the special seal, the DVD is only good for 48 hours.(ahem I did say rental…you can’t keep them for ever ppl) So even the people that it takes multiple sittings to finish a movie you can still get it done. I can set my Depp here on the dresser and watch him in a week, when I have a break from my Thesis, worry free.

I picked up a bunch of these little things for 0.99 cents at Staples today.

Hats off to the ppl of Flexplay…well played….well played

Quarter Life Crisis

Hey all the day is finally here. I’m 25, the big Quarter and the Quarter life Crisis can begin.. I think I need to trip to Vegas, to deal.  I know someone out there has timeshare!!!!. (OMG is that a grey hair..)

There are so many things that one could sit down and pick out in their life, that aren’t what they expected to be, I mean I could, If i wanted to be all depressed and sad, and get all EMO on you. But I look at it totally different. I try to look to see what life has given me thus far, and what I want it to give me in the future.

So wow I can’t believe I’ve been here on Earth, for 25 years, it just sorta seems crazyl.. I’ve grown so much over the past couple of years and more so over the past of months than I ever could have expected to. For a few moments the world seems sorta surreal and I try to think about Life, before and after this point.

I’m not a Life+Lemons= Lemonade kinda guy I’m more of a Lime+ Life = Margaritas.. Don’t settle for good, make it GREAT.

OK People you know the drill..

Contacts…The Death of Me..

I have a mild form of Ommetaphobia, which by definition is the fear of eyes. While, I don’t fear them, I fear sharp things going into them, especially mine. This phobia has never prevented from doing anything. So I wouldn’t say this “fear” has anything control over me, it’s perhaps just given me a quirk.

When I”m walking, if i see a lot of sharp objects, I sorta tense up. I just fear that i’m going to fall and puncture my eye. Modern arts places can be sorta creepy to me and I have a problem with name tags lying around with the pin sticking up. I normally walk by and snap them together. You can’t even begin to visualize the near fit I had when watching Kill Bill, and seeing Uma Thurman, cut out someone’s eye in slightly graphic detail.(I hate you Quentin T.)

I think because you only have two eyes, and there’s no replacing them, that I’m slightly worried about damaging my eye, or losing my eye sight. You know you just can’t put a cast on a eye and expect it to heal in 6-8 weeks.

All of that, leads me to my purpose of the post.  I am got, contacts, Me, me of all people.  Me the guy with the eye phobia, with contacts..the irony. So get this, of all things. Unlike most people, who struggle to get the contacts in the eye, I struggle more, with getting the contacts out of my eye. I have had assistance from other people for days.  I have a hard time removing them because, I thought I would rip my eye open trying to pinch the contact out. I have to get up an extra 30 mins, just to have to “CONTACT TIME” in the bathroom.  Before leaving the office, the optician said I would have to take them out and put them in. I told her, I hope she had all day. Let’s just say an empty box of tissues and 45 mins later, she removed my contacts for me. It was partly her fault. In an attempt to show me how it’s done, she scratches her eye. IN FRONT OF ME.. She had to audacity, to tell me to keep trying…

These little buggers are perhaps the greatest and worst optical invention all at the same time. A few times, I have gotten the contact in, and because the Optical God’s need a good laugh, I put the contact in backward. SO not only do have me struggling and literally crying to get the contact out, once I do,  I now have to put the contract BACK IN AGAIN..(I am not kidding you)…

I know, what you are thinking, just get glasses.. Had them long time ago..  I can’t now, not with film school. Eye has to be on eyepiece..

That was two weeks ago. I am now a little more equipped with my contacts. I still struggle some mornings, but at least I don’t freak out about something going straight for my eye, and I no longer fear of scratching my eye removing them.  Do I still have a the phobia, ohhhh you bet.. But I have gotten over the fear of contacts and something touching my eyeball. Feels good to tackle a fear and emerge successful, on some level. Challenge yourselves people!!!!

You Write, I Direct, We make a Movie

Open Call To Writers

Here’s you chance to have your work seen on the big screen and possibly sent out to National Film Festivals.

I’ll make this as concise as possible. I am graduate student at FSU’s Film school and I am doing an open call for a short film script. I am granted 3 short films over two years and a possible 4th. I wrote and directed my very own first short and I’m over it. I am really not interested in writing and directing my own work. Similar this is how the real Hollywood system works.

The Basics:
The film will be 6 and a half mins
The film will be shot on 16mm
All topic/subjects are game, nothing is off limits.
You will be credited with writing or co-writing*
Early submission Deadline is March 30th.

Other things to remember:
Locations: Just about anything is possible; soundstages, forests, rivers, beaches, office, schools, houses, etc so let the your creativity rip.
Script- don’t worry too much about format and knowing how to write a screenplay or a short, those are things we can fix. The general rule of thumbs 1 page = 1 min. But that’s not to say the script can be longer or short.
Shooting: We will be shooting this May/June with a local Aug. Screening, then onward to festivals.

If you need more information/have questions please contact me at or if you already have work that you would like to submit, please send it to:

This is not an all or nothing submission. Should I receive an idea or concept that I really like, there can and will be a collaborative effort to develop something awesome.

Also please spread the word to fellow writers, friends or anyone that might seriously be interested. This is going to be fun and exciting.
